WORK
HISTORY:
Database Management Consultant
Tasks (BETA Health Resources): Redesigned the data model to encompass the new needs of the company and it’s outside sales force. Had to account for minimal hands on management within the implementation, as the expanding needs of the new organization would be met by a reduced staff. Trained onsite personnel on the new system, including explaining the changes made and the reasoning behind making the changes.
Tasks (Twilight Hills): Installed the GoldMine database management system (DBMS), handled the initial import of the current database, designed and wrote a conversion program to make the updated information from the Bulletin Board System automatically available to the DBMS, installed PCAnywhere (Remote access software) to allow remote access, and then trained the staff on accessing and using the systems.
Database Coordinator

Insurance Services. 8/96 – 6/97
Duties: Specifically recruited in to work with the existing (GoldMine Contact Management Software) database management system (DBMS) which was not working correctly. The existing database consisted of 3 main elements; a series of overfull filing cabinets, an underused software system (GoldMine), and a trashcan for everything that wasn’t immediately classified as belonging in one of the two other elements. Worked with inside telemarketing, outside sales, advertising and assorted support staff to define the needs of the varied departments. Designed and implemented the network based database system using the existing DBMS to meet these requirements. Modified and maintained user-level access controls. Designed several queries on both this new system and the existing AS400 based client database.
